OCPD = 100% noncontinuous load 125% continuous load = (1.00 x 125A) (1.25 x 50A) = 187.5A. Therefore, a 200A OCPD is needed. If a 100%-rated CB is chosen, a 175A rating (125A 50A) is acceptable. 9/3/2014· I carry only a few contactors for space reasons: 2 pole 40 amp (50A res) in a 24v coil, and 3 pole 40 amp in 24v and 208-230. I've got one of the new sure switches, too, but no takers so far (except for my house). Those cover about 90% or more of what I am working on. I also don't carry dual run or 370 volt capacitors.
